Grupo Empresario Prieto (GEP) took another step in modernizing public transportation by selling and delivering 10 Yutong buses powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) to operators in the province of Mendoza, consolidating the adoption of cleaner energy and greater operational efficiency. The experience—with metrics showing reduced emissions and less noise pollution—undoubtedly serves as a replicable model for other jurisdictions in Argentina.

The buses were supplied by Colgas (a GEP company and the exclusive representative of Yutong in Argentina), reinforcing the fleet renewal process with cutting-edge technology that improves the travel experience, safety, and competitiveness of the companies.

“Each new CNG unit is a concrete investment in the future of transportation: cleaner, more efficient, and more competitive. We are committed to a cleaner, more efficient, and more competitive transportation model, aligned with global sustainability and development challenges. Mendoza is currently a pilot project, and we are confident that we will soon expand this model to the rest of the country,” stated Nicolás Muñoz, General Manager of Colgas.

Some of the key features of these vehicles include: a 200km range; a nominal power of 236kW; seating for 27 passengers plus two accessible spaces; a low floor and ramp for people with reduced mobility; six monitoring cameras; and a tachograph.
