Major compressor OEMs including Ariel, Atlas Copco and Chinese domestic suppliers rolled out upgraded 4-stage compression units for CNG stations in early 2026.

New-generation mother station compressors adopt permanent magnet variable frequency motors and three-stage intermediate cooling systems, lowering unit power consumption to 0.26 kWh per cubic meter of compressed gas, 20% more efficient than traditional fixed-speed models.

For daughter stations, mini oil-free booster compressors eliminate gas contamination risks, matching strict emission standards for commercial fleets.Key technical evolution: High-pressure compression up to 350 bar supports fast-fill for Type IV composite CNG vehicle cylinders.

Predictive maintenance sensors fitted on all mother/daughter compressor units monitor cross-head, piston rod and sealing ring wear status, extending overhaul cycles from 6,000 hours to over 9,000 running hours.
